Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Authors declares that there are no Conflict of Interest / Competing Interest regarding the submission.

Author Guidelines

`Cadernos de Pós-Graduação em Direito Político e Econômico / Postgraduate Notebooks in Political and Economic Law (ISSN: 1678-2127) welcomes the submission of original and unpublished scholarly work that meets the journal’s editorial scope and academic standards. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and are subject to a rigorous peer-review process.

Authors are encouraged to carefully read and follow the guidelines below to ensure their manuscripts comply with the journal’s editorial policy.

  1. Eligibility and Authorship
  • Submissions are open to professors, researchers, and professionals with a academic background in Law, Political Science, Economics, or related fields.
  • Manuscripts with co-authorship are permitted, provided all contributors meet the criteria of academic authorship.
  • All authors must be clearly identified with their full name, institutional affiliation, academic title, and ORCID iD (optional).
  1. Language and Abstracts
  • Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively in English.
  • Each submission can include two abstracts:
    • One in English (mandatory)
    • One in Portuguese (optional)
  • Abstracts should be between 150 and 250 words, followed by 3 to 5 keywords.
  1. Originality and Exclusivity
  • The manuscript must be original and unpublished, and must not be under review or consideration by any other journal or publication.
  • By submitting a manuscript, authors declare that the content is their own and does not infringe upon any copyright or third-party rights.
  1. Manuscript Format

Submitted manuscripts must comply with the following formatting standards:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Length: Between 5,000 and 8,000 words, including references, footnotes, and appendices
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Spacing: 1.5 lines
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Citation style: Footnotes following the Brazilian ABNT NBR 6023/2018 standards, or alternatively, APA 7th Edition Style (notes and bibliography) — consistency must be maintained throughout the manuscript
  • References: A complete list of references must be included at the end of the article, in accordance with the chosen citation style
  1. Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript must contain the following elements:

  1. Title (in English)
  2. Abstract (in English)
  3. Abstract (Resumo) (in Portuguese) (optional)
  4. Keywords (in English)
  5. Introduction
  6. Main body (thematic development, with appropriate sectioning)
  7. Final considerations or conclusion
  8. References
  9. Appendices or annexes (if applicable)
  1. Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers. The evaluation considers:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Originality and contribution to the field
  • Theoretical and methodological rigor
  • Clarity, coherence, and academic writing quality

The editorial board reserves the right to accept, request revisions, or reject manuscripts based on reviewer reports.

  1. Ethical Conduct and Plagiarism Policy

The journal strictly adheres to academic ethics and integrity. Submissions found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other forms of academic misconduct will be rejected immediately. All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism detection software.

  1. Publication and Copyright
  • Once accepted, articles will be published in the annual issue of the journal.
  • Authors retain copyright of their work, but grant the journal the right to publish and distribute the article under open-access terms, licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
  1. Submission Procedure

Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal’s official platform or by email, as indicated on the journal website. Authors will receive confirmation of receipt and updates throughout the editorial process.
