Article Processing Charges (APC)

The Cadernos de Pós-Graduação em Direito Político e Econômico / Postgraduate Notebooks in Political and Economic Law, published by the Centro de Estudos Acadêmicos Press [Center for Academic Studies Press], is committed to open access and the dissemination of high-quality academic work. In order to sustain the journal's editorial operations, peer review management, indexing, and publication infrastructure, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is applied upon acceptance of manuscripts.

1. APC Structure

  • For authors affiliated with institutions in Brazil:
    A contribution of R$ 1050 (one thousand and fifty Brazilian reais) is requested for each accepted article.
  • For authors affiliated with institutions outside Brazil:
    A contribution of USD 380 (three hundred and eighty United States dollars) is requested for each accepted article.

Please Note: The APC is charged only after the article has been accepted following peer review. There are no submission fees.

2. Payment Instructions

Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will receive payment instructions by email, including bank transfer or PayPal options, depending on the country of residence.

A payment receipt will be issued by the Centro de Estudos Acadêmicos Press [Center for Academic Studies Press], and no article will proceed to publication without confirmation of payment.

3. Exemptions and Waivers

Requests for APC exemption or partial waiver will be considered in exceptional cases, such as:

  • Postgraduate students without institutional funding;
  • Authors affiliated with institutions in low-income countries (as defined by international development indexes);
  • Collaborative works involving underrepresented groups or themes of public interest.

Requests must be submitted at the time of submission and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the editorial board.

4. Use of APC Funds

All collected APCs are reinvested in the journal’s operations, including:

  • Editorial management and peer review administration;
  • DOI registration and/or digital preservation;
  • Website maintenance and accessibility;
  • Indexing and bibliometric visibility initiatives.

The journal operates on a non-profit basis, and no honoraria are paid to editors.
