Abstract

For a long time, grassroots movements have been driving forces behind political shifts, especially in South Asia. These movements have rallied communities, confronted repressive institutions, and shaped new policies. the impact of popular uprisings on regional politics, with an emphasis on four crucial countries—Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. The study sheds light on the tactics, difficulties, and consequences of movements by examining them in relation to topics like minority rights, environmental justice, women's empowerment, and land rights. strategies employed by grassroots movements to combat structural inequality and advance democratic rule through the use of community engagement, cultural stories, and collective action. The relationship between grassroots movements and governmental institutions is also important, as is the role that these movements play in bringing about lasting social change. in order to bring about inclusive social and political change in South Asia, it is crucial to support grassroots efforts.
