Abstract

The cleaner production strategy is considered one of the most important contemporary approaches adopted by economic institutions to achieve sustainability and enhance their competitiveness in light of the requirements of sustainable development. This concept is based on the adoption of preventive measures aimed at improving the efficiency of production processes through the optimal use of natural resources, energy, and raw materials, while minimizing waste generation and pollutant emissions at their source rather than addressing their consequences after they occur.

The cleaner production strategy contributes to the economic sustainability of institutions by reducing production costs, minimizing waste, and improving productivity, which ultimately leads to increased profitability and enhanced market competitiveness. It also supports environmental sustainability by reducing pollution, rationalizing resource consumption, and preserving ecological balance. At the social level, it contributes to improving working conditions, protecting the health of employees and society, and strengthening corporate social responsibility.

In light of the growing environmental and economic challenges, the cleaner production strategy has become an essential option for institutions seeking sustainable growth, as it enables them to reconcile economic objectives with environmental protection requirements and social welfare goals. Therefore, adopting this strategy represents an effective pathway to ensuring the sustainability of economic institutions and enhancing their contribution to achieving sustainable development goals in the long term.
