Abstract

The agricultural sector is considered a principal pillar of Algeria’s national economy, and the achievement of food security depends on the extent to which this sector can adopt modern technologies and develop production methods. The importance of this study emerges from its focus on the shift toward smart agriculture and the role of digitization in confronting the challenges of fluctuating food supplies, climate change, and water scarcity. The study also aims to shed light on the reality of digital transformation in Algeria’s agricultural sector, to monitor the impact of digital platforms and programs in enhancing productivity and rationalizing resources, and to review the legislative framework that regulates the digitization process and its role in strengthening food security and achieving self‑sufficiency.
