Abstract

One of the best deep learning methods, transfer learning lets models use their knowledge of one task to tackle related ones. Model efficiency and performance are substantially enhanced when dealing with constrained labeled data or computing resources using this strategy. Transfer learning, which entails optimizing previously taught models for specific tasks, shortens training times, improves generalizability, and decreases the need for large annotated datasets. The foundations of neural network transfer learning are domain adaptation, feature extraction, and fine-tuning. It analyzes the learning speed and prediction accuracy gains from cross-domain knowledge transfer for tasks such as image classification, natural language processing, and voice recognition. Popular pre-trained models and architectures are also covered in the article, with an emphasis on how they enable scalable and efficient AI solutions. the pros and cons of transfer learning, including issues with domain mismatch, negative transfer, and overfitting models. It goes into further detail about the practical uses of transfer learning in several domains, demonstrating how it has improved healthcare diagnostics, intelligent systems, and computer vision.
