Abstract
The mobile phone industry has witnessed rapid technological advancement, leading to increased consumer awareness and intense competition among domestic and international brands. This study aims to examine consumer preferences towards different mobile phone brands and to analyse the influence of demographic factors such as age, gender, and income on brand preference. The study is descriptive and empirical in nature and is based on the survey method. The findings reveal that both male and female consumers exhibit similar preferences while selecting mobile phone brands.. Higher-income consumers tend to prioritize product quality, performance, and after-sales service, whereas lower-income consumers are more price-sensitive. The study also indicates that younger consumers are influenced by style, entertainment features, and social trends in their brand choices. The study concludes that demographic characteristics, particularly age and income, significantly influence consumer preferences towards mobile phone brands.
Therefore, mobile phone companies should adopt market segmentation strategies and design products and marketing campaigns that address the varying needs and expectations of different consumer groups to enhance customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.
