Abstract
Astrology has long been associated with the interpretation of interpersonal relationships, romantic compatibility, marriage prospects, and social interaction. In contemporary society, zodiac signs, birth charts, compatibility readings, and digital astrology platforms continue to influence how some individuals think about relationships. This paper examines astrology and relationship compatibility from a contemporary perspective, focusing on zodiac matching, birth charts, emotional compatibility, communication, marriage beliefs, self-reflection, digital astrology, cultural influences, and critical perspectives. Astrological compatibility may provide individuals with a symbolic language for discussing similarities and perceived differences between partners. It can also encourage conversations about personality, expectations, communication, and relationship preferences. However, relationship quality is influenced by many factors, including communication, trust, shared values, emotional maturity, social circumstances, and individual behaviour. Astrological compatibility should therefore be understood primarily as a cultural or reflective practice rather than a scientifically established predictor of relationship success. The paper argues that astrology remains socially relevant because it provides accessible narratives through which people discuss relationships and personal identity. A balanced contemporary perspective can recognize its cultural significance while encouraging evidence-based understanding of healthy relationships.
