Abstract

The study aimed to shed light on the concept of international trade, which encompasses export and import activities and is based on differences in resources and demand among countries. This enables access to markets and products that are not available locally. It also addressed international supply chains, which ensure the flow of goods from suppliers to consumers across borders, including logistics, transportation, and insurance. Furthermore, the study examined the various crises facing these supply chains—such as natural disasters, geopolitical events like wars and conflicts, cyberattacks, and other disruptions—as well as the solutions and strategies adopted to these challenges.

Through this study, a set of key findings was reached, the importance of strengthening relationships with suppliers through diversifying the supplier base, promoting trade liberalization, and the necessity of utilizing information and communication technologies—such as artificial intelligence and machine learning—in planning, producing, managing, and optimizing supply chain activities. This is achieved by processing vast amounts of data, forecasting trends, and performing complex tasks in real time. Moreover, artificial intelligence can enhance decision-making processes related to supply chains and improve their operational efficiency.
