Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the reality of digital transformation in Algerian public and private banks, by assessing the level of adoption of its various dimensions and revealing statistical differences between the two types of banks. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach, based on a questionnaire distributed to an intentional sample of (147) employees representing the study population working in a number of Algerian public and private banks. To analyze the data, SPSS software was used, employing descriptive statistics, the One Sample T-test (One Sample T-test) to measure the level of adoption of digital transformation, and the Independent Samples T-test (Independent Samples T-test) to detect differences between public and private banks. The results showed a high level of adoption of digital transformation in the banks under study, with the strategic dimension leading the way in digital transformation. They also revealed statistically significant differences between public and private banks in favor of private banks. The study recommended enhancing investment in digital infrastructure, developing the digital competencies and skills of workers, developing digital culture, modernizing regulatory frameworks, and benefiting from the successful experiences of private banks to accelerate digital transformation in the Algerian banking sector.
