Abstract
Technology-induced gender-based violence (TFGBV) has risen significantly in the Global South, where socioeconomic disparities make women and other underprivileged groups vulnerable to it. Cases such as deepfake pornography, cyberstalking, doxing, online abuse, and AI-assisted abuse exacerbate previously existing disparities and sometimes fall outside the jurisdiction of South Asia's current legal systems. This article investigates AI technology as a fresh approach to reducing inequality in South Asia.
